What Are the Classifications of Brass Check Valves?

Brass check valve can be divided into lift check valve, swing check valve, butterfly check valve, pipeline check valve, slow closing check valve and diaphragm check valve according to its structure.

1. Lifting brass check valve

A check valve in which the disc slides along the vertical centerline of the valve body. The lift check valve can only be installed on a horizontal pipeline. The disc can be a ball on a high-pressure small-diameter check valve. The valve body shape of the lift-type brass check valve is the same as that of the globe valve (can be used in common with the globe valve), so its fluid resistance coefficient is larger.

Its structure is similar to the globe valve, and the valve body and disc are the same as the globe valve. The upper part of the valve disc and the lower part of the valve cover are machined with guide sleeves. The valve disc guide can be freely lifted and lowered in the valve guide. When the medium flows downstream, the valve disc is opened by the thrust of the medium; It falls on the valve seat to prevent the reverse flow of the medium.

2. Swing brass check valve

The disc of the swing check valve is in the shape of a disc and rotates around the axis of the valve seat channel. Because the channel in the valve is streamlined, the flow resistance is smaller than that of the lift check valve. It is suitable for low flow rates and infrequent changes in flow. However, it is not suitable for pulsating flow, and its sealing performance is not as good as that of the lifting type.

The swing type brass check valve provided by check valve factory is divided into three types: single-lobe type, double-lobe type and multi-half type. These three forms are mainly divided according to the valve diameter, in order to prevent the medium from flowing or flowing backwards, reducing the hydraulic impact.

3. Disc brass check valve

A check valve in which the disc rotates around a pin in the seat. The disc check valve has a simple structure and can only be installed on the horizontal pipeline, and the sealing performance is poor. The structure of the butterfly check valve is similar to that of a butterfly valve. Its structure is simple, the flow resistance is small, and the water hammer pressure is also small.

4. The valve disc of the pipeline type brass check valve slides along the center line of the valve body

Pipeline check valve is a new valve. It is small in size, light in weight and good in processing technology. It is one of the development directions of brass one way check valve. However, the fluid resistance coefficient is slightly larger than that of the swing check valve.

5. Compression type brass check valve

As a valve for boiler feed water and steam cut-off, it has the comprehensive function of lift check valve and globe valve or angle valve.

6. Diaphragm type brass check valve

Diaphragm type check valve has various structural forms, all of which use diaphragm as opening and closing part. Due to its good waterproof properties, simple structure and low cost, it has developed rapidly in recent years. However, the operating temperature and pressure of the diaphragm type brass check valve are limited by the diaphragm material.
