What is a Brass Ball Valve?

What is a Brass Ball Valve? Why are ball valves made of brass? What are the uses of brass ball valves? What is the principle of brass ball valve? The fluid in the brass ball valve pipeline is mainly used for cutting off, distributing and changing the flow direction of the medium. The ball valve designed as a V-shaped opening also has a good flow adjustment function. Let us take you to understand one by one.

Ⅰ. What is a brass ball valve?

Brass ball valves are mainly used to cut off, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium in the fluid in the pipeline. The OEM brass valve designed with a V-shaped opening also has a good flow adjustment function. Brass is often used to make valves, water pipes, connecting pipes for internal and external air conditioners, and radiators.

Ⅱ. What is the principle of brass ball valve?

The ball brass valve is evolved from a cock. Its opening and closing part is a sphere, and the sphere is rotated 90° around the axis of the valve stem to achieve the purpose of opening and closing.

Ⅲ. Why are brass ball valves made of brass?

The materials for making ball valves include cast iron, brass, carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, PVC, ABS and other materials. Brass ball valves are generally low-pressure and small-diameter valves used on household water pipes or gas pipes. The manufacturing process is simple, the price is low, and the price of brass is high. Higher than the price of steel, lower than the price of stainless steel. Carbo is also an experienced bronze ball valve supplier, contact us for more info.

Ⅳ. What are the characteristics of brass ball valves?

The main feature of ball brass valve is its compact structure, small fluid resistance, and full-bore ball valve basically has no flow resistance. The sealing is reliable, the structure is simple, the volume is small, the weight is light, and the maintenance is convenient. The sealing surface and the spherical surface are always in a closed state, which is not easy to be eroded by the medium, and is easy to operate and maintain. It is also suitable for medium with harsh working conditions, such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane and ethylene. It is widely used in various industries. When fully open or fully closed, the sealing surface of the ball and valve seat is isolated from the medium. Causes the erosion of the valve sealing surface, and has a wide range of applications, ranging from small diameters to several millimeters to several meters, and can be applied from high vacuum to high pressure. The ball valve body can be integral or combined.

The ball support method is divided into two types: floating ball valve and fixed ball valve:

1. Floating ball valve: its main feature is that the ball has no support shaft. The ball is supported by the valve seats at both ends of the valve inlet and outlet. The valve stem and the ball are linked movably, so the ball of this kind of ball valve is in a "floating" state by being clamped by the two valve seats.

2. Fixed ball valve: It is characterized in that the ball is integrated with the upper and lower valve stems, and the ball can freely rotate along the axis perpendicular to the valve channel, but cannot move along the axis of the channel. Therefore, the fixed ball valve has small torque, small deformation of the valve seat, stable sealing performance, long service life, and is suitable for high pressure and large diameter occasions.

Ⅴ. What are the applications of brass ball valves?

As a professional bronze valve factory, Carbo produces high-quality valves for different uses. Chemical, petrochemical, petroleum, paper, mining, electric power, liquefied gas, food, pharmaceutical, water supply and drainage, municipal, mechanical equipment, electronics industry, urban construction and other fields.
