Check Valve Principle, Function and Classification

Ⅰ. Orinciple of check valve


The opening of the check valve means that the disc is opened by the positive flow of the medium, and the same reason the reverse flow of the medium pushes the disc to close. The check valve is also called a check valve, brass one way check valve, a reverse flow valve and a back pressure valve. Most of them are automatic valves, the main function is to prevent the reverse flow of the medium, prevent the reversal of the pump and the drive motor, and the discharge of the container medium.


It is also used for safety protection in auxiliary systems where the pressure may rise above the system pressure.


Ⅱ. Functions of the check valve


Check valve, also known as non-return valve, check valve, one-way valve or check valve, Carbo has two main check valves in brass and bronze materials.  Bronze check valve and brass check valve are used to ensure the directional flow of the medium in the pipeline without backflow.


The opening and closing of the check valve depends on the flow force of the medium to open and close by itself. The check valve is an automatic valve product. The check valve can only be used in pipelines where the medium flows in one direction to prevent the phenomenon of medium backflow. It has a wide range of applications, and can be used in large and small calibers, various media, and high-voltage systems of power stations.


Ⅲ. Classification of check valves


In Carbo bronze valve factory, The check valve is mainly used to prevent the medium in the pipeline from flowing backward. Bottom valve and duckbill valve also belong to the check valve series.


Check valves can be divided into three types: lifting type, swing type and disc type:


1. The lifting type is divided into two types: vertical type and horizontal type. The lifting type structure moves along the axis.


Example:


① Lifting silent check valve is used in pipelines with high quality requirements for water supply and drainage projects; at the same time, it can be installed at the outlet of the pump and requires a relatively high pressure (PN2.5Mpa) pipe network. It is an important product of waterproof impact check valve.


②Lifting type noise reduction check valve is suitable for the water supply and drainage system of high-rise buildings and the outlet of the pump, not suitable for sewage pipelines.


③Horizontal check valve is suitable for submersible, drainage and sewage pumps, especially for sewage and sludge systems.


2. The swing type is divided into single-lobe type, double-lobe type and multi-lobe type. The swing-type structure rotates according to the center of gravity.


Example:


① Selective rubber check valves are used in urban water pipe network systems, and are not suitable for sewage pipelines with a lot of sediment.


②The swing-type single disc check valve has the widest application range and can be installed on pipelines such as water supply and drainage, petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, industry, etc., and is most suitable for occasions with limited space.


3. The dish-shaped structure is a straight-through type.


Example:


① Disc double disc check valves are mainly used in water supply pipelines of high-rise buildings and in fluid pipe networks containing corrosive media and sewage.


②The swing-type single disc check valve has the widest application range and can be installed on pipelines such as water supply and drainage, petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, industry, etc., and is most suitable for occasions with limited space.


③Horizontal check valve is suitable for submersible, drainage and sewage pumps, especially for sewage and sludge systems.
